I'm Ciro Meggiolaro (Padova, 1978), I grew up in Pescara.
I moved to Rome in 1998, where I graduated in Communication Sciences with a thesis on the relationship between photography and literature in the USA 50’s.
I start taking pictures in 1999, when I fell in love with an old reflex camera found in my father’s house.
After “Animadversione” (Museo delle Genti d’Abruzzo, Pescara, 2003), I showed my pictures in several personal and collective exhibition including FotoGrafia – Rome’s International Festival (“Nema Problema”, 2005; “Work in progress – Messicani”, 2007; “Day Return Ticket”, 2008), “Eat.it” (curated by Francesca Referza – Palazzo De Sanctis, Castelbasso, Teramo, 2008); LORETOVIEW. FESTIVAL DI FOTOGRAFIA DEL PAESAGGIO (Castello Chiola, Loreto Aprutino, 2014).
In 2006 I won the PagineBianche d’Autore-Seat prize, art contest curated by Luca Beatrice with the opera “Verso”.
Since 2007, I worked - as photo assistant - in many international video and photo shoots, collaborating with world famous photographers such as Mario Testino, Michael Muller, Nigel Parry, Fabrizio Ferri, Michel Comte, Bruce Gilden, Johan Renck, Alexis Lubormirski, Harley Weir, Floria Sigismondi and many others.
My pictures have been published by Grazia, Elle, About BMW, Marieclaire, The Guardian, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, Jazzit, Marcopolo - Diari di Viaggio, Motocross Magazine.
Among my clients are Honda Europe, Honda Italia, Sky Italia, Fendi, Revolution Films, Bulgari, Ferragamo, Altaroma, Zero Motorcycles.
I photograph everything, trying to be invisible.
